Hypothermia, on the other hand, occurs when the body loses heat faster than it can produce it, leading to dangerously low body temperatures. Signs of hypothermia include shivering, confusion, and fatigue.
Residents are encouraged to dress in layers, stay indoors during extreme cold, and ensure that their homes are adequately heated. Additionally, those who must venture outside should limit their exposure and take frequent breaks to warm up.
